The Goddess Within is a fantasy novel set in 16th century Italy. Raised by her hermit father in the wild, secluded from human society, Berka grows into womanhood. Berka soon learns her true origins and understands why she is so drawn to the otherworld. In this journey of self-discovery, Berka learns to embrace the powerful aspects of her divine feminine as well as the inseparable bond with the masculine.

The author has a real lyrical tone to her writing and it is beautiful and soothing to read. It’s a refreshing take on a genre that has become too modern and twisty for its own good. What I enjoyed most though is the development of the characters, particularly our lead Berka. There are so many layers to the book that I couldn’t begin to describe them. Nor would I want to spoil such a rich and unusual reading experience. Not to be missed!
